Groundbreaking of Oak Street Village Apartments

In July, something exciting happened for our County, and the City of Loogootee, as we celebrated with a groundbreaking of Oak Street Village, a 50-unit apartment complex that represents so much more than housing-it represents progress, partnership, and possibility.

Oak Street Village is a direct result of strong collaboration among city leaders, private developers, nonprofit partners, and the community at large.

This development will also include a 4,500 sq ft. childcare facility that will bring 60 childcare seats to our County! This childcare facility will be opened to the public. The development also includes more pickleball courts for the Community.

But that’s not all, Oak Street Village also creates a real opportunity for our young people— those who leave for college or skills traded training and want to return home. For too long, we’ve seen our young talent leave without a clear path to return. This development helps change that. It gives them a place to live, to grow, and to build a future right here where their roots are.
